We are looking for HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT who can work with pupils who are either on roll at a Specialist behavioural school or out of Education due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with the right qualifications and experience who is looking for a new challenge or career change.

Do you have an HLTA qualification or higher or you are a graduate and have experience working with young people with challenging conditions and needs.

The role is to develop, support and engage with young people with challenging behaviour, mental health issues and barriers to learning

Within an agreed system of supervision and within a pre-determined lesson framework, teach individuals and small groups.

Provide detailed verbal and written feedback on lesson content, pupil responses to learning activities and pupil behaviour, to commissioning agent and pupils.

Motivate and progress pupils’ learning by using clearly structured, interesting teaching and learning activities.

Support the teaching of groups of pupils as they are able to access the full curriculum.

Be familiar with lesson plans, EHCPs and learning objectives.

Be aware of and support difference and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.

Organise and safely manage the appropriate learning environment and resources

Promote and reinforce children’s self-esteem and independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance

Support the role of parents in pupils’ learning and contribute to/lead meetings with parents to provide constructive feedback on pupil progress, achievement and behaviour, maintaining sensitivity and confidentiality at all times.
