Job Role – Level 3 Teaching Assistant and Midday Supervisor  

Location – St. Helen’s

Start Date – ASAP

Salary – £64 per day

Are you a passionate and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new role? We want you to join a fantastic school in St. Helen’s who are offering a long-term, part time role to start ASAP. This role will be AM only from 8.40am – 1pm supporting within the 2 Year-Old Provision and then supporting as midday over lunches.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help with learning.
  • Offer emotional and pastoral support to students to improve their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Help students with organisational skills, study techniques, and goal setting.
  • Support students with specific learning needs, including those with SEN (Special Educational Needs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Work closely with teachers and parents to track and review student progress.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies to enhance student learning and well-being.
  • Supervise pupils during lunchbreak, ensuring safety, good behaviour, and smooth transitions between activities.
  • Monitor dining areas and help to manage queues, promote good table manners, and ensure pupils eat safely.
  • Communicate with staff to pass on any significant lunchtime issues to teachers or senior staff.

What we require:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students
  • A compassionate and proactive approach to supporting student development.
  • A good understanding of the challenges some students face in learning and the strategies that can support them.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varied needs of students.
  • A commitment to promoting equal opportunities and safeguarding.
  • At least 6 months experience within the last 2 years ideally working with children and Special Educational Needs
  • Enhanced DBS check on the online update service or willing to get one
  • Ability to provide two professional childcare references within the last 2 years
