Exclusive Education are currently recruiting for an Art & Food Technology Technician to work in a welcoming secondary school in St Helens from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a reliable, organised and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting creative and practical learning within a school environment.

The Role

As an Art & Food Technology Technician, you will provide essential support to both the Art and Food Technology departments, ensuring lessons run smoothly and safely.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing materials, equipment and resources for practical lessons
  • Supporting teachers and students during practical activities
  • Maintaining stock levels and ordering supplies when required
  • Ensuring classrooms, preparation areas and equipment are clean, organised and safe
  • Following health and safety procedures within both departments
  • Assisting with displays and exhibitions of students’ work
  • Maintaining and cleaning specialist equipment and resources

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working within a school, educational setting or relevant industry role
  • Be organised, proactive and able to manage their workload effectively
  • Have a good understanding of health and safety practices
  • Be confident supporting practical Art and Food Technology lessons
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one

HLTA

Exclusive Education require a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work in the Bolton area.

You will need to work alongside the Class Teacher providing whole class support as well as working on a one to one support basis to provide academic support, personal development and guidance. You must be creative in your approach in order to motivate the pupils and keep them focused throughout the lessons. Building good relationships with the pupils as well as the parents in order to achieve progress.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a good understanding of the curriculums
  • A firm understanding of the Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements
  • A charismatic and hardworking attitude
  • A genuine passion for working with children with the commitment that the children are at the centre of everything you do
  • Excellent communication skills with children, their families and your colleagues

You must have:

  • At least 6 months experience working with children in the last 2 years
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, cost of which will be met by the applicant, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable) and professional reference checks
