This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children at the very beginning of their educational journey—whether you have classroom experience or a background in nursery settings, childcare, or other early years-focused environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils aged 3–5 years in their daily learning and development
- Assist the class teacher with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities
- Contribute to play-based and structured learning activities in line with the EYFS framework
- Monitor children’s progress and contribute to assessments and observations
- Help create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Promote independence, social interaction, and emotional development
- Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs to support the needs of the whole class
Candidate Requirements:
- Ideally hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 1, 2, or 3) – desirable but not essential
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Experience working with young children in the last 2 years – in school, nursery, or alternative childcare settings such as playgroups or early years clubs
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Two professional references relating to work with children
- A current Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
