Early Career Teacher (ECT) – Year 1
Are you an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher looking to begin your teaching career in a supportive Year 1 classroom? We are working with a welcoming primary school seeking a motivated and dedicated ECT to join their Key Stage 1 team.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your teaching skills in a nurturing environment with access to experienced mentors and ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- Assess and monitor pupils’ progress, adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
- Foster positive behaviour and maintain high expectations for learning and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, parents, and carers to support every child’s progress.
- Participate fully in school life, including staff meetings, training, and wider school activities.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to the wellbeing of all pupils.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to achieve QTS.
- A passion for teaching and supporting young learners in Key Stage 1.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A positive, proactive approach and a willingness to learn and develop.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
