Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Exclusive Education are looking for a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to work in on short term, long term and day to day contract in a variety of schools across the North West.  You will be addressing the needs of children who require help to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside the school, in order to achieve their full potential and to enable the school to raise standards of achievement, improve attendance and raise standards of behaviour. You will need to also work in a pastoral role with identified children’s families and work in partnership with other professional agencies.

In addition, you will:

  • work with pupils on individual targets set by teaching staff
  • organise liaison on behalf of pupils with colleagues, parents and outside agencies in a professional manner being aware of confidentiality
  • be able to support and develop our nurture group
  • support for teachers by raising the awareness of teaching staff to the strengths and difficulties of individual pupils
  • assist teaching staff in the monitoring and evaluation of pupils’ progress, providing them with feedback on observations undertaken
  • understanding the emotional and social needs of pupils with whom working and contribute to planning of learning activities
  • assist in the assessment and monitoring of individual pupils and their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for children who need learning support
  • completed other duties as required by the teaching staff

Year 3 Teacher

The children’s work should be marked and assessed daily and accurate records kept of their progress. Regular parent’s evening will be held so that all relevant information relating to the children’s education and emotional wellbeing can be fed back.

You will be expected to:

  • Facilitate, support and monitor the overall progress and development pupils
  • Set tasks for the whole class, individuals or groups which challenges pupils and ensures high levels of interest
  • Set appropriately demanding expectations of pupils’ learning, motivation and presentation of work
  • Provide clear targets for pupils’ learning which they share and understand
  • Direct and supervise the work of Teaching Assistants in their classroom
  • Assess progress, development and attainment of pupils and keep such records as are required by the school’s systems
  • Foster a learning environment and educational experience which provides children with the opportunity to fulfil their individual potential
  • Share in the development of the school curriculum, courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment and their review
  • Support and contribute to the school’s responsibility for safeguarding children

SEBD Teaching Assistant

Exclusive Education are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant that specialises in Social and Emotional Behavioural Difficulties to teach in a Special Educational Needs School.
